First Sentence Fridays and FREE BOOK Friday!

Happy Friday, reader friends! I’m glad you’re here!

Another example of how fast time is going – can you believe this week we are on Chapter 25? I can’t. That means there are only 11 more to share with you before First Sentence Fridays will come to an end. That is technically not The End of the book – there is one more chapter, but as I’ve mentioned before, it’s a spoiler no matter how I try to finagle it.

Anyway, on to this week’s sentence!

I believe when people share a significant experience, whether positive or negative, it creates a bond between them. That bond can exist in many forms. From the simplest, as in an acknowledgement of the shared experience, or it might lead to the creation of a new friendship, or they might even find themselves in a personal relationship. It all depends on how the experience affects the individuals and what is going on in their present day lives.

Del Reese and Rae Lynn Cobb have gone through a lot at Swallow Hill, which is to say, it’s been filled with positive and negative experiences for them – okay, honestly, a lot of negative. They both went there for their own personal reasons, and are carrying the past with them. It’s hard to shake all that baggage they’re carrying. They have made mistakes, and there are reasons for why they are in this place at this particular time, but that’s not to say those reasons are something either of them would care to admit, or want known.

ARC GIVEAWAY!!!

For a chance to win an ARC of The Saints of Swallow Hill this week. . .

Tag your reader friends on Facebook, Twitter, and share out this post!

Along with an ARC, I’m giving away a t-shirt this week! (size L only) What’s so special about this shirt – well, I have one, and wear it proudly,???? and that’s because it has the first stanza of the North Carolina state toast on it, which says:

“Here’s to the land of the longleaf pine,

The summer land, where the sun doth shine,

where the weak grown strong, and the strong grow great,

Here’s to downhome, the Old North state!”

How fitting is that for this story???

As always, a winner will be randomly selected and announced on Monday!
