First Sentence Fridays – Chapter 2

It’s Friday!

This week I’m introducing you to my second main character, Rae Lynn Cobb.

(*Note – anything I “talk” about here is always spoiler free. 🙂 )

When we meet Rae Lynn, she’s already married to Warren Cobb. Having grown up in an orphanage, she has no sense whatsoever of her biological family, much less how or why she ended there. When the girls turned eighteen, they were expected to move into a boardinghouse in town and begin work in one of the local mills, unless something else happened to come along, which, for Rae Lynn, just so happened to be Warren.

Rae Lynn, given her upbringing, has led a rather secluded life, and she’s never really been tested. What sort of person is she? Does she have courage? Is she stubborn, or easy-going? Is she tenacious, or does she give up easily? We find out all this and more, when she comes up against a terrible event, and is forced to make what might seem an impossible decision.

This is a good depiction of how I see Rae Lynn:

In other book news, currently there are “Chirp Deals” going on for four of my novels. What are Chirp books? From their website, “Chirp offers amazing limited-time deals on audiobooks without subscription fees.”

Right now, The Moonshiner’s Daughter is a “Featured Deal” and the price is $2.99 – which, if you’ve paid full price for audiobooks, you know that’s extraordinarily low.

All others are listed for $3.99.  Go check them out here!

Don’t forget:

  • Add The Saints of Swallow Hill to your “To Read” shelf on Goodreads!
  • It’s also available for pre-orders now! Visit my homepage and click any of the links there to land on your preferred retailer! (it really, really helps to pre-order!)

Thank you for being here to read along with me!
