First Sentence Fridays and FREE BOOK Friday!

Have mercy. For those who celebrate, are y’all still STUFFED? ???????? It’s worth every single bite, isn’t it??? The rest of this long weekend I am certain I will be in that inevitable day after turkey “fog.” It’s a good thing I went ahead and prepped this post beforehand!

Cornelia is a true and good friend to many in the Swallow Hill turpentine camp. Aside from the fact she has a bit of medical know-how, she is a compassionate, and caring individual. If it weren’t for Otis always crushing her spirits, Cornelia could soar, and be free-spirited and happy. Despite Otis, she is capable, and smart, so, it should come as no surprise to Del that she would devise a way to help him. One that would not be seen by hateful Otis. #waytogocornelia

Chapter 29

Del

It dawned on him what Cornelia had signaled in that heartbeat-like double pulse of her four fingers as he was gathering his things to leave.

  1. I do have several people like Cornelia in my life. My sisters and the women that God has brought into my life.

    1. Hi Sonnetta, I feel the same about certain individuals in my life too! They are the ones who know what to do in a time of crisis, or how to help in some small way.

      P.S. I love your name!

  2. I do have two dear friends who I can confide in and totally be myself when we are together. It is a rare thing.

  3. Yes, I have my best friend from grade school. We confide in each other and have for over 56 years. It’s very comforting to know she is always there for me and I am for her.

    1. Wow – a grade school friend is extra-special. So amazing b/c you both have watched one another grow up, but I’d bet there’s a good chance you each see the little girl in one another still.

  4. I have a best friend that I have known for 28 years. She is always there for me to confide in and give me advice. She is so patient with all my questions, and she encourages and prays for me.

  5. I have 3 older sisters. Suffice it to say I have plenty of choices for those confidential secrets!

    1. Ha! I reckon you do! I don’t have a sister, I have an older brother, but I bet when the four of you are together, you have a great time! Secrets and all. ????
